This is what is disappointing about tabletop Pathfinder: it was actually a quality system. It took 3.5 and streamlined a few wonky aspects (skills, grappling). The core world was designed as a 'fantasy kitchen sink' but it actually worked, with areas to suit any campaign. Want to run a horror-based pseudo Ravenloft campaign? Ustalav. A weird scifi blend where you have androids and lasguns alongside wizards and fencers? Numeria. And so on.

The Adventure Paths they published serially were so high quality that Owlcat was able to design two bestselling cRPGs off of them. Good writing, great illustrations, very deep and detailed source material to be mined. For a brief period Pathfinder was outselling D&D

And then their female CEO (of course) decided it was more important to be 'inclusive' and celebrate trannies and faggots in canon. Goodbye, sales and shelf space. So it goes.
