I like the balls too, but it's an expensive play. They're burning $200K a day in electricity to mine blocks on a dead chain. They can't sell the coins and recoup funds. They have about 500 blocks to go until they're caught up to the main chain. Though, they still need to mine about 2,000 more during this difficulty period before the difficulty adjustment hits.
