I'm 53 years old, walking the dogs through the desert suburb we live in. I notice a familiar smell I can't quite name. I start the next step–
I'm five years old, overwhelmed by the Fruity Pebbles my neighbor is eating. It mixes with the muggy air. Feels like I have sugar milk stuck to my skin. I hope the ants don't get any ideas.
