In 2024, we saw 296 internet shutdowns across 54 countries, with 47 still ongoing into 2025. #India alone imposed 84 shutdowns. Networks are being cut in conflicts from #Gaza to #Nepal, while #Russia has blocked 197 VPNs 🛑 and encrypted apps are under threat. Major platforms collect our metadata and use it to train opaque AI systems.
