Carrot, a new addressing protocol will bring three major improvements to Monero:
1. Full View-Only Wallets: Currently, view-only wallets can only track incoming transactions. Carrot enables them to see both incoming and outgoing transactions while maintaining their spend-proof security.
2. Forward Secrecy: Carrot implements protection against future quantum computing threats, ensuring transaction privacy even if quantum computers become powerful enough to break current encryption methods.
3. Backwards Compatibility: Unlike previous proposals (Jamtis and Jamtis-RCT), Carrot maintains compatibility with existing addresses and wallets. Users can continue using their current wallets, though they'll need to create new 6-key wallets to access Carrot's full features.
