When I hear the word epidermal, it gives me PTSD. About 9 years ago, I was in the ER and a Doctor told me he needed spinal fluid to test, to rule out other things. He took 7, yes 7, attempts to get the fluid. I was screaming in pain. A nurse gave me a towel to scream in. She patted my head while I screamed. Finally, the doctor said “I not going to hurt you anymore Mr.”
I had it done with X-ray guidance in the AM. I freak out to this day when I have to get any needle in my back.
