I sometimes bang on about how real books are better than ebooks, but here's a good example.

A YA novel from 1954, Return to the Lost Planet, by Angus Macvicar. A classic ripping yarn, stuffed to the gills with 1950s tropes, and a hugely enjoyable romp.

A scuffed hardback, with gently curving front and back boards. The pages are foxed. But what hits you is the smell, the aromatic distillation 70 years of history, perfectly in tune with its content.

I kept burying my face in it.
