As we are on a greenhouse topic, might as well put in that my greenhouse is doing well, despite some leaks, large semi trasparent plastic sheet replaced the (previously) shower panes which served as roof but were far too heavy. Top temperature in there clocked 36C a few days ago.

Maybe is too hot; the courgette plant, one of eight seeds, has fruits rotting on the stem, before they reach adulthood and can be eaten. darn! the rest... one single sunflower is being attacked by something, slug pellets have proved inneffective so it is something else.

Outdoors, broadbeans: planted forty beans and got 12 plants. These will be used for next crops. Other beans are groing but reluctantly, same for cabbage abd cauli; Unfunnilly other plotters are getting a much better crop, on the other hand I am not using any artificial anything other than a drop of liquid feed, they need it.

What is growing wondefully and profusely is weeds; weeds being anything growing out of the allotted place, basically. so within the boundaries am pulling up 'creepy willow;, horsetail, trying to keep it under control; not impossible but blimey.

Outside the hedge, they cease counting as weeds to become natural flora mostly native. Including brambles.
