I'm learning about normal faults and reverse faults and I have 4 photos of faults. I have to determine if each one shows a reverse fault or a normal fault.

My understanding is that a reverse fault pushed the 2 sides together and a normal fault pulls them apart. They slide. The layers move.

Here is one of the photos.

My question is, how do I tell if the left side has fallen or if the right side has been pushed up?

Okay. In typing this out, I think I may have actually just worked it out and how the slope is the clue. But please explain if this is obvious to you.
