I remember seeing reactionaries saying that Syrians weren't really refugees because they had the latest iPhones.
I don't know how iPhones are supposed to shield you from war, but it wouldn't surprise me if there will be people saying "Look at their expensive phones! They aren't really in need! If they can't afford food it's their own fault for spending their money on an expensive phone!"
