Linux doesn't have every software everyone needs yet but it's definitely coming closer. VR used to be impossible but now even with the proprietary Facebook Oculus headsets it is possible. When something doesn't exist the community will just make or port it.
Also Ubuntu is kinda garbage ever since they adopted snaps, never had issues with that?
