You know what bothers me about many Sherlock Holmes adaptations? It's that they make Holmes too smart. Like a super-genius, well above the level of most other people and therefore the only person who could possibly figure out the truth about a crime.
To me, that's not the point of the stories. Holmes is obviously very intelligent, but his success comes from the application of his intellect in an innovative way.
