The problem is that there is a lot of empty space before the song on vinyl. Even when cueing the vinyl from a specific point, there is no guarantee of the speciic point being used the next time. This is 💯 better done with cd.
So I recorded my vinyl separately and lined it up with the movie based on specific scene sequences.
I made a separate recording of side 2 and lined it up as well. To tell the truth, I overlapped the very end of side 1 with the start of side 2 so the Money bass line drops precisely as the door is opened into the movies color sequence.
This could not be done by simply playing the CD, and IMHO creates a superior sync.
