You know that temporary protective transparent film that lots of consumer electronics have over push button controls and other flat surfaces during shipping? The soft scratchable one that's supposed to be peeled off when you first set up the device?
Today I pulled a 1990s-vintage automatic bread machine out of deep storage. Long ago it belonged to an elderly relative, RIP. The push buttons appeared bubbly and damaged. But guess what?
Yup... it still had that temporary film over the buttons!
