SO food for thought. Many will never have to experience caring for let alone being the parent of a vaccine preventable diseases in an PICU. Watching them literally go through multiple stages of grief, often lingering on the anger part, in a week.

I have spent many a night listening to prayers that will never come, attempts to explain why they chose that path, endless tears, and the question that haunts any seasoned ICU nurse: Why?

A parents first duty is to keep their child safe. Many of these parents that chose not to immunize their kids would not hesitate to sacrifice themselves if to save that child, yet allow this impulse to be hijacked because a former centerfold, or a guy who drinks methyl blue and claims he has a brain worm says so.

The child below was from the linked article. He has influenza. I could not find an end stage Measles that was okay to post but its horrifying. Make no mistake we in the PICU will go through the stages as well
