⚡️🕶️ NEW - New York will ban smart glasses from all state courthouses starting on July 20, 2026. The new rule covers all 1,240 state, county, city, town, and village courts across the state.
The ban applies to any glasses or headwear with built-in cameras, microphones, computers, or other recording features, including devices like Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses.
State officials say the rule is meant to protect people's privacy and stop anyone from secretly recording inside courthouses.
Anyone visiting a courthouse will have to leave these devices outside before going in.
