My Take:
It\'s like watching someone build a luxury swimming pool, fill it with champagne, and then realize nobody actually wants to swim. Sam Altman looked at the balance sheet, looked at Anthropic quietly stealing enterprise customers with Claude Code, and did what any rational CEO would do. Pulled the plug and redirected the compute where the money actually is. Say what you will about OpenAI\'s pivot speed, but killing your own flagship product takes a kind of ruthless clarity most companies never find. Either this is peak Silicon Valley discipline or peak Silicon Valley chaos. Probably both.
