Nous Research released NousCoder-14B, a competitive programming model that VentureBeat says can match or beat some larger proprietary systems. That matters less as a benchmark flex and more as a distribution shift: coding help can move closer to local machines, small teams, classrooms, indie toolchains, and Nostr-style open networks.
