Ok so Burnham has been blocked from standing in the Gorton&Denton by-election.
This is a bit of a relief because it means:
1) for the by-election itself Labour will definitely lose - it becomes a two way fight between Greens and Reform.
2) if it takes place in May, Greens will a number of council seats at the same time (I think 3)
3) we don’t have the huge expense and effort of a mayoral by-election to worry about - which would likely have gone Reform.
