I bought and planted quite a few new bulbs last month- Martagon Lilies, various Alliums, and more Sicilian Honey Lillies (which do well for me).
Then ten days ago I succumbed to a 50% off last minute flower bulb sale offering. I knew the cold weather might make planting the bulbs a little iffy in December, but the sale price made me do it.
Got them planted today 6-8" deep. It went 'ok', despite some frozen soil areas that I battled with my shovel. I'll have to buy a couple bags of chip mulch tomorrow to throw over the top to help them be protected for the winter, which is now.. HERE. ❄
I'm very glad it was only a small order- 6 giant purple alliums, 18 giant hyacinth bulbs.🥶
