There's an alternate ending which I actually don't agree with, though, where it says certain people (including most likely anyone watching) would never be born if that technology had been developed earlier. I don't agree because my consciousness is not a product of my body. Some experiences are, but experience and ego are not eternal. You're a soul with a body, not a body with a soul.
