I bailed around the time Go came along, and it was such a breath of fresh air to have a language and tooling that wants to help you make things that aren't papers. My true happy place is probably somewhere in between the two, I miss richer type systems fairly often... But Go being uninteresting to extreme language design people turned out to be one of its greatest assets, if I can be a little snarky briefly.
