U.S. Senate has passed the "Lindsey Graham Act," a bill imposing sanctions on Russia and Iran, with a vote of 86 in favor and 11 against.
The most important part of the bill gives the U.S. President the authority to impose targeted tariffs of up to 100% on imports from the five largest countries that purchase Russian oil or natural gas.
The bill also extends sanctions against Iran. By extending the Iran Sanctions Act of 1996 through 2031, it prevents the lifting of restrictions on Iran's energy sector and defense industry.
