Correct. To be precise I should have said I'm willing to tolerate some data on the blockchain as long as the footprint is small enough that it's negligible.

Even BIP-110 does not aim to eliminate all forms of data carrying on Bitcoin, just the most harmful ones. Up to 80 bytes OP_RETURN is still possible afterwards for instance. Taproot assets are on the same order of magnitude AFAIK.
