Here’s my latest fucking contraption.

Tomorrow we’re putting up a repeater, but my friend who actually knows how to climb trees isn’t available. So naturally, I built this thing.

It’s made out of a piece of wood, some metal strapping, an old shelf bracket that I bent into the shape of a hook, a cup dispenser from a missing water cooler, and the sectional pole from a snow peeler.

If you live up north, you know the snow peeler. It’s that long-ass pole you use to pull snow off your roof before the roof decides it’s had enough of winter.

The pole slides into the cup dispenser, then you find a suitable tree, guide the whole ridiculously heavy fucking thing up onto a branch, and voilà: repeater in a tree.

And the beautiful part is, if we ever need to take it down, we just bring the pole back, stick it in the hole, lift it off the branch, and lower it.

No tree climbing required.
