when you say foster and keep - are these fostered pets also live-trapped? Or is there some local rodent shelter near you that you adopt from?
I know in my area, hantavirus is pretty prevalent in the local rodent population (well, the deer mouse and similar that carry it anyway. I doubt I’d be able to tell the difference, tbh). I’m not sure I’d want to start adopting wild ones.
