The UK and North America use the same word for vastly different birds! In the US, I’d call this “common buzzard” a hawk, and a buzzard in the US would be something like a turkey vulture.
And for years I never understood why, in a deck of cards with bird sketches, the artist had drawn the robin the way it had—a circular body with peachy coloring on its upper breast—until a saw a picture of a *European* robin! Now it makes sense LOL
