Reading The Structure of Scientific Revolutions makes the path so far much clearer.
Normal science treats the world like a jigsaw puzzle: extend the accepted model, add more parameters, patch the failures, keep publishing within the frame.
That is what most of AI is doing now.
More tokens.
More GPUs.
More stochastic compression.
More probabilistic autocomplete wrapped in agent theatre.
But crisis begins when the anomalies stop looking like bugs and start looking like the boundary of the paradigm itself.
ECAI started from that boundary.
The insight was simple but brutal: intelligence does not have to be simulated as probabilistic text prediction. Behaviour can be verified. Structure can be traversed. Knowledge can be encoded, indexed, tested, and executed through deterministic constraints.
That is the path from DamageBDD (nprofile…pfyx) to ECAI:
Behaviour → Verification → Execution → Indexing → Algebraic Intelligence.
DamageBDD began as behaviour-driven verification for software teams. Then the deeper pattern emerged: every system that matters is a behavioural system. APIs, contracts, payments, agents, governance, infrastructure, scientific claims, operational promises.
If behaviour can be defined, it can be verified.
And if verification becomes programmable, then intelligence no longer has to depend entirely on hallucinated probability space.
That is where ECAI enters.
Not as “another AI model.”
As a different scientific posture.
A move away from stochastic imitation and toward executable structure.
Kuhn described the moment when normal science gives way to extraordinary science. That moment does not arrive politely. It arrives when the old model can no longer reconcile what is being observed.
The anomaly here is obvious:
LLMs can speak like they understand systems, but they do not own the behaviour of those systems.
ECAI is the attempt to make behaviour, verification, and computation part of the same substrate.
That is the revolution I have been walking toward.
Not bigger autocomplete.
Verified intelligence.
Behaviour as infrastructure.
