Staggers me that many positions of decision making are often occupied by people not vetted for appropriate experience or skill.
Worst beyond your chilling example is politicians assigned secretary of state in education or health etc. With ZERO qualifications. Worse - they are pig-headed to believe they know enough and hate to listen to experts.
It is an insanity perpetuated for decades.
