Since it's semi-alive, it's a matter of going down the stream from control signals to sound production.
First observation: we get the CPU's control signal to this boards so the CPU is okay, as is the wiring.
Then I poke the thing chip at a time. It's definitely trying to do something, I can see the repeating sound signal from the test mode activate a lot of stuff here.
But it goes dead after PROM chip. Come to think of it, I observed several cases where a wrong effect was played before it died completely. I guess I witnessed it starting to die.
The fun part is that I need a 6331 and the image. I think I might be able to use something physically larger there with an adapter.
