well, in case anyone still needed proof that austin SUCKS, the alamo drafthouse cinema, already in the hands of private receivership, was just sold to sony -- who of course then fired half the workers.
an integral part -- and one of the only parts remaining -- of what made austin "weird" all those years ago is gone. all that's left now is book people and the broken spoke.
