sadly, not all users are aware that they were being served content to intentionally manipulate them. users thought it was normal and even to this day, if you asked people from developing countries, they would probably thought it is normal.
hence, I chose to move here.
However, endorsing #nostr as an alternative on the basis that "it does not use tricks like other big tech or centralised social media platform, attention grabbing!" is very dangerous claim.
Yes, there is no ads YET but this does not mean it won't CHANGE! Netflix (although not decentralised but they have ads now!).
This type of FALSE PRETENSE that it is resilient to this methodology is misleading and this is how you lost trust from your user base!
My point, products and services FREE or NOT starts from a place of trust. If the main website is telling opposite and the developer doc is different, don't you think this #grownostr community deserve to know?!
Not everyone here are technically savvy. #nostr is gaining traction, it makes sense to make sure that technical facts are align to what is written on the code. Unless what the dev's team wrote are obsolete then that doc must be removed!
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the experience that I have here esp with the people I met.
I do not want to start in a new platform BEING MISLED based on the misunderstanding from other user based here. This is how fake news start!
Again, every user has a CHOICE and every user has the right to transparency to make a wise informative decision.
Nost has this vision that the community comes from its people. As part of that community, I want this to be known to other people so they fully understand what they are getting!
