I agree with this article. We are constantly told that what's important is "preserving the peace". Unfortunately, doing this gives the racists, misogynists, etc cover to continue being jerks. Let them know how you feel about their shitty views. It's the only way we can ever hope to, if not change their "minds", let them know that we do not appreciate these views.

Nobody needs to get shot. Keep the heat down. But tell the idiots exactly what you object to, and why.
