Outside the factory were two crates of grafted carob saplings. This one is labeled 'Duraio', which is one of the cultivars grown locally in València and is traditional to this area.

I'm guessing these are one year old saplings, maybe two. Carob is a slow grower and that's partly why it's so drought resistant.
