Here is the really weird thing about that match. The stats https://www.fotmob.com/matches/man-city-vs-liverpool/2f48yd#5231047:tab=stats say City were only 1.07 xG better than us. A "fairer" scorline would have been 2-1 or maybe 3-2. Both teams had 11 shots; City put 7 on target to our 5.
Don't get me wrong. There's no possible denying City were the better team, and earned the win.
But the gap was not as big as the raw scoreline suggests.
Now we just have to win the UCL.
