My ancestors in Venice spent their days with faces tilted toward the sun, sleeves rolled, feet bare on warm stone. Nobody stripped down to UV-absorbing underwear. They just lived outdoors in natural fabrics.
The modern obsession with either covering everything or going minimal misses the point. Our bodies are designed to receive sunlight in reasonable doses. Vitamin D deficiency is a disease of indoor living, not insufficient nudity.
Natural fibers, open air, faces toward the light. La dolce vita wasn't complicated.
