One of Carney's "fast track" infrastructure project announcements is a small modular reactor at Ontario’s Darlington nuclear facility.
There are some problems with this:
* This is not a new project. Permitting was started more that five years ago.
* The BWRX-300 reactor doesn't exist yet. This would likely be its first installation. We used to have strict "no prototype" rules with power plants, for good reason.
* It's made by a subsidiary of GE, an American company.
