I used to work with a guy whose father was a dairy farmer. This was years before satellite imagery and all of that, and the old man could predict the weather based on wind direction, what clouds looked like and the temperature and relative humidity. His herd, and therefore his life, depended on his ability to predict the future. He was good at it.
