Looking publish your fiction book?
You'll need to get your 'query package' ready.
Query = info about your book for publishers open to submissions.
Include the following:
One thing to ask fiction leads for is a query package.
1. 'Cover letter' = a very short pitch. 150 words or so.
Why is your book right for the publisher's audience?
Which books can you compare it to.
2. Synopsis = 600-word play by play of the book.
Write in the present tense. Include everything (including spolers). Note, this is different from the 'blurb'.
3. The first chapter or first 10,000 words.
If people can produce this, it shows you are thinking about your book as a product. Publishers won't take you seriously without it, however amazing your story / writing is.
