Yea, it is quite clear that this is some kind of memory leak within kernel space.

My working hypothesis would be it being related to GPU + DRM and widevine within chromium (at least that was responsible for memleaks a few years ago). Don't know how to (quickly) test this though. Back then I basically inferred it through disabling it in the browser and there not having been any memleak then. But had to re-enable it or otherwise you know DRM protected stuff doesn't play...
