yet US companies can provide personal data to data brokers who sell that to the US government. It should be illegal for any social network to provide/sell personal data to a 3rd party (unless it is a court order). In this regard, the EU is way ahead of the US in protecting privacy and personal freedoms. Meta should have been sanctioned for the same reasons (and yet they are US owned).
