yes, though tbh, this is for large part also how it works on twitter, small accounts are very unlikely to be picked up by the actual algo, and are sorted way down for replies, until some big account happens to retweet them and they gain tons of followers
it has gotten more like that over time, i guess because of anti-troll/spam as well as to encourage people to buy the "verified" subscription
at least there's no algo here that intentionally buries you either 😅
