I’m a dude who grew up under sexism, so it’s always in the back of my mind trying to jump out when I see/read stuff about women and their fight for independence and autonomy. It’s gotten easier to manage over the years as I’ve grown up, studied, and learned how ridiculous it is but it’s still there.
We grew up in a bigoted society, so it takes vigilance to not only unlearn the biases we’ve been taught but to keep them at bay because propaganda is relentless.
The fight is hard, yes, but every inch of ground gained is a victory worth celebrating.
So if you make a mistake, dust yourself off, make amends where you need to, and keep going.
You’re not alone in that process.
