Well - even young boomers like me will have to downsize and will have a LOT of books, albums, CDs, and other items to get rid of.
I helped clean out the 1BR home for my mom - took two trailers full of trash to the dump, the family got all the nice things, and other stuff went to the nearby resale store or to Goodwill. I could have had a nice Queen sized wrought iron bed frame but not sure how I could have gotten it home.
