Seems like one browser is right and one browser is wrong here, I'm just not sure which it is and it's annoying.

(Situation: if a child element has `z-index: -1` on it, that puts the element behind the parent in Chrome & Firefox. It stays on top in Safari. But this only happens if inside of a "container".)
