Remember when Alberta believed in the united Canada? Alberta was so forgiving as we felt we were blessed and could help the have not provinces. We gave and we gave; while they took and took. We kept on giving and giving. For decades on and on.
The provinces were greatful for our help. We were blessed to have so much.
Now it is expected. We have been labeled treasonous for wanting a lighter load as we toil harder and harder for our keep. We now murmur quietly wondering why our obligations increase and our rights decrease. Like a battered wife we just bite the bullet and keep hoping things get better. THEY DON'T. The expectations of our lords increase and don't let up.
"You owe us". "We made you.".
I think Alberta is just tired of takers. Tired of whiners that don't take our resources and improve their life. Their begging has become demands. And we grow weary.
We realize that the power actually rests with us.
