Finally got to The War For Late Night by Bill Carter. It was released in 2010 not long after the events it describes and still fresh when I added it to my TBR in 2012. Now, a dozen years later, my memory of what transpired is vague at best, but I do vividly remember Letterman eviscerating McCain for ditching his show to do a Katie Couric interview.

I was never a loyal late night tv watcher, and I never really liked Jay Leno.
