I got a DT 770 for my birthday and I do not regret choosing that! It's got the treble, bass and detail I was looking for! A little EQ fixes the frequency response dip at 4kHz but other than that, I don't even need to EQ it! As a matter of fact autoEQ makes it sound worse to my ears. The preference targers from harman don't represent me I guess. I'll have to change the autoEQ on my IEMs as well to see if I can get even better sound out of the tinny little things. Yeah, the treble sounds the tinies bit abrasive, but the extra detail and emphasis it gives me is worth it.
Ironic, if you ask me, that headphones advertised as "reference" and "studio quality" are actually super fun-sounding and not at all neutral. Just look at that graph :
