4/5 So, the tree that got me into this mess would also help me get out of the mess. But first, the backpack-- I couldn't move in the deep snow wearing the pack. I took some time to awkwardly take my pack off while I was sunk into the snow. Once that was off, I could slowly turn my body around, grab the trunk of the tree, and pull myself up along the length of the trunk to the trail with the backpack in tow. Brushed myself off, gathered my senses, and kept heading back down the trail. (CONT)
