I came up with the image of stars leaving the American flag and transforming into birds, representing the souls of soldiers who died by suicide after returning home from war, to whom this book is dedicated.
It became the book’s main visual theme, and to add something a little special, I added this doodle for those who get the physical copy. 🖤
